Details to follow shortly about parking and finding the house. A brief agenda for the meeting will also be circulated to all WRC members in good standing.

On the business side of things, we will:

The cost of the event this year is FREE, but we ask that you bring something to share with your clubmates (Potluck or BYOB). The club will supplement your contributions with good appetizers.

Please be sure to RSVP by Wednesday, January 14th to Carla Freyvogel at vicepres@washrun.org.

We look forward to seeing you on next Saturday!

JANUARY 17th UPDATE!!!!

Parking at Carla’s place:

1207 Stuart Robeson Drive in McLean is in a small neighborhood with limited parking.

If you can find a spot in the neighborhood itself, more power to you. Otherwise, there are other options! You can:

  1. Park on Rt. 123 on the shoulder or in the turnout lane as you approach the neighborhood, heading NORTH on Rt. 123. My car (navy blue station wagon) will be out there to mark the spot.
  2. You can park at the Safeway on Chain Bridge Road, and walk across the street. As runners, this should not be a problem.

See you tonight! Questions, just call: 703.409.7028 or 703.356.2339.

Thanks!!!!

Being the international crowd that we are, we are expecting to see the singlet with Big Ben in the background or Scotland Yard. YOU think up the possibilities!

Club Singlets: Available Now, Visible Everywhere

Our store has finally reopened to take your pre-orders for club racing singlets! One American songbird, Katy Perry, already received hers and wore it out to the National Portrait Gallery (June 18 – July 6)! artnet News has another view of Katy’s NPG selfie.

So WRC members: place your orders, and we’ll have you suited for our own sweet sport.

Sunday Distance Run – 3/30

Get ready for a nice, easy, long run this Sunday! The planned route will be similar to our 2/23 Sunday Distance Run which took us out Custis Trail, through Arlington neighborhoods to Chain Bridge, up the Towpath, and back down MacArthur.

This week’s planned route will add a couple miles on for a nice round 24 miles. The primary addition will include exiting Custis Trail onto Bluemont Junction Trail, turning onto W&OD Trail, and cutting back up Custis Trail to continue the route up N. Harrison St through the Arlington neighborhoods. The other (minor) modification will be turn onto the Capitol Crescent Trail off of MacArthur, and finish along Water/K Street.

Please review the full 24-mile route map before Sunday! We will have a gatorade/water stop along the towpath between Chain Bridge and the cutover to MacArthur.

For those with no desire or plan to run 24-miles this weekend:

16 Miles – Turn back down Towpath toward Georgetown after crossing Chain Bridge

10-11 Miles – Continue on Custis Trail toward Rosslyn/Georgetown after the Bluemont/W&OD addition (don’t turn onto N. Harrison St).

See you on Sunday!
