It’s Summer! Looks like the rain will be done by 0700 tomorrow, so should be pretty decent running weather. The planned route will be ~15 miles through Rock Creek park. Something similar to the Nature Center – Bingham Loop:

Tomorrow marks our return to 0700 start time! The planned SDR route is a 14.5 mile trek out the Towpath, turn off at Glen Echo, and back down with combination of MacArthur & CCT. The route map can be reviewed at: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6329675
There is water at Fletcher’s (miles 2.5 & 12.5) and Glen Echo (mile 7.5).

I just signed up for this race and created a team for WRC, just in case anyone wants to get a team together. It sounded like a few other people, including John the Elder, plan to run LHH. If we can put a team together, we should be able to dominate the “community/open” team competition if it looks anything like last year.
The team registration for this Grand Prix race closes on Wednesday, June 4.
Joining a team is pretty easy. When you register, the site clearly gives you the option to join an existing team. Then you select the team from a drop-down menu or search for it by name (team name: Washington Running Club).
So be like the Johns: wear you club singlet, have a heart, and race with your club!

The summer heat and humidity is planning to hold off for another week, so in an effort to beat the heat, we will start our Sunday Distance Run an hour earlier, effective Sunday, June 8, 2014. The 7 a.m. start time will be in effect through August 31st, as reflected on WRC’s calendar.
