With happy hour at Marvin a success, WRC heads into this weekend to provide volunteer support for the GOTR Spring 2012 5K at George Mason University. This also means that a fair number of WRC members will not be present at the normal 8 a.m. Sunday Distance Run.

WRC Happy Hour May 17, 2012

We may be on the cusp of summer, but it’s never too late to enjoy the springtime weather on a roofdeck bar surrounded by fellow WRCers. The club is hosting its first happy hour of 2012 on Thursday, May 17 at Marvin in DC’s U Street corridor. At 2007 14th Street, Marvin boasts an excellent rooftop bar, so we can all soak in the spring weather. The happy hour starts at 6 p.m. and will end around 8.

CAR and Capital Rehab Injury Prevention Clinic at RRS Falls Church

What: Drs. Booker, Beck and Fontaine from Capitol Rehab in Arlington will be hosting an injury prevention clinic at the Road Runner Sports store in Falls Church for our CAR team (it is also open to the general public, so spread the word to your running buddies).

WRC Team takes 3rd Place at the St. Patrick’s Day 8k (March 11, 2012)
Congratulations to all WRC members who raced in the St. Patrick’s Day 8k this morning and especially those who signed up for the team competition: Geoff King, Kirk Masterson, Brian Savitch, Emily Buzzell, and David Pittman.
Team scoring for the race was based on the top four team runners with at least one female required for scoring. Team results can be found here: St. Patrick’s Day 8k Team Race Results 2012.
This is a great start to the spring road racing season! Stay tuned for more opportunities to join WRC teams in upcoming races; the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler is up next with WRC fielding several teams for this event.
