Alfred tomFelde trophy awarded to John Kendra

Washington Running Club is proud to recognize John Kendra as the 2022 recipient of the Alfred tomFelde trophy. This trophy has a long tradition in the club and is awarded for “Exceptional Service to the WRC”. John is a previous President and veteran member who continues to serve on the club’s Officer Board.

At the presentation of the trophy during the membership meeting on May 13 2023, outgoing President Christine Hackman hailed John for his many years of active service for the club, relentless recruitment efforts, consistent presence at Sunday distance runs, and continued impressive marathon performances. She especially thanked John for his creative initiatives to sustain the club during the pandemic months.
