WRC’s first volunteer opportunity of the year is quickly approaching! This year, we’ll be cleaning up the area around the Washington Canoe Club – a location where we’ve all logged many miles running as well as enjoying post-run refreshments with gorgeous views of the Potomac.
Here’s the details:
What: Potomac River Watershed Cleanup
Where: Meet at the Washington Canoe Club
When: Cleanup runs from 9:00am-12pm on 4/11/15, meet outside the Washington Canoe Club at 8:45am
RSVP: Please email Pat O’Keefe at pg.okeefe@gmail.com by 3/25/15 if you would like to join (limited spaces available)
Getting there: Parking is only available at the boathouse for Washington Canoe Club members. Metered street parking and parking garages are available on Water Street near the boathouse. Volunteers are also encouraged to take public transportation or bike.
Suggestions: Volunteers are encouraged to bring water bottles, as well as wear long sleeves, pants and sturdy shoes. Gloves and bags will be provided.
Many thanks to our volunteer coordinator, Pat, for organizing this great event!
