Love WRC, Love Your Park!

Rock Creek Park Cleanup Project — Saturday, September 29, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

We will be working with the folks at Rock Creek Conservancy (RCC) in doing a cleanup. Please participate and give something back to one of our favorite running spots. RCC will provide gloves, trash bags etc. Please wear long pants and long sleeves. You provide your good, hard labor and sweat. And then, WRC provides a dash of hand sanitizer and a hearty lunch. Join us!  Meet up at the Dupont Circle METRO Q Street entrance, located one block north of Dupont Circle.

WRC Summer Happy Hour 2012

As summer is winding down, it’s time for WRC’s seasonal happy hour. For this event, the club will travel to Northern Virginia to make life a bit easier for all you members in that neck of the woods.  The popular Clarendon rooftop bar of Whitlow’s on Wilson is the site. It’s just off the Orange line Metro (Clarendon) at 2854 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA. The happy hour starts at 6 p.m. this Wednesday (July 25, 2012) and will end around 8 p.m.

Last chance to order your WRC racing apparel!

WRC is creating singlets so we can look just as impressive as our race results. Both the men’s and women’s singlets are sleek, lightweight, and bright yellow. The artwork, printed with dark blue ink, will be similar to that used for previous versions of WRC apparel. Take a look at the designs for the front and back.

WRC is subsidizing the singlets, so each one will cost you just $15. Once we have everyone’s requests, we’ll place an order with our distributor and screen printer. So don’t miss out!

WRC Happy Hour May 17, 2012

We may be on the cusp of summer, but it’s never too late to enjoy the springtime weather on a roofdeck bar surrounded by fellow WRCers. The club is hosting its first happy hour of 2012 on Thursday, May 17 at Marvin in DC’s U Street corridor. At 2007 14th Street, Marvin boasts an excellent rooftop bar, so we can all soak in the spring weather. The happy hour starts at 6 p.m. and will end around 8.

CAR and Capital Rehab Injury Prevention Clinic at RRS Falls Church

Where: Road Runner Sports Falls Church (Falls Church Plaza 1120 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046)

What:  Drs. Booker, Beck and Fontaine from Capitol Rehab in Arlington will be hosting an injury prevention clinic at the Road Runner Sports store in Falls Church for our CAR team (it is also open to the general public, so spread the word to your running buddies).
