It sounds like Sunday’s 7 am run (meeting in front of CB2, as always) should feature slightly less oppressive heat and humidity. Please join us at 7 am and then stick around for coffee at (possibly Peet’s?) after the run. Vice President Silver will be presiding.
Tomorrow’s run is at 7:00 am for the social runners and 6:00 am for the fall marathoners. Here’s the scoop from John Kendra:
Weather is looking very fine (~70, relatively low humidity, clear) for a great Sunday morning long run with WRC! Maybe time for some who have been missing a lot to get back in touch with your running chums?? Seriously, we miss you, don’t be stranger, you’re missing some good stuff.
As a slight twist, the marathon training group will be meeting extra early (0600!) to get in some miles (~6 mi) before our normal commencement in front of CB2 at 0700. (How’s that for commitment??) Doing this so that that group can enjoy a convivial social time at D&D with everyone else instead of arriving to find an empty table!
It’s all good. See everyone at 0700 (if not 0600!).
Come join us to celebrate Canada Day and the Fourth of July! We’ll meet at 7 am Sunday at the CB2 in Georgetown, take a picture, run a bit, and then drink coffee at Dean and Deluca.
We think we’re onto something here. Join us for our monthly Happy Hour, this Friday June 24 at 4:30pm at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden.
For a change (change not guaranteed), let’s meet on Sunday at 7:00 am in front of the CB2 in Georgetown for our weekly social run. Then, let’s have some bad coffee at Dean & Deluca.
Our race calendar is live and in color, so take a look over at http://www.washrun.org/for-members/calendar/
While you’re enjoying our amazing website, think about joining as a paid member of Washington Running Club for 2017. It’s just pennies a day. http://www.washrun.org/payments/
Don’t forget to come out to the Happy Hour at the Sculpture Garden this evening (National Gallery of Art, Jazz in the Garden) starting at 4:30. It will be a great time and a chance to say farewell to long-time WRC member Emily Buzzell who is going back to school.
Another reminder that we will be seeing Boston, An American Running Story, which is playing at the Gallery Place Cinema at April 19 at 7:30 pm. We will hold a happy hour at Clyde’s of Gallery Place nearby, starting at 4 when the drinks and raw bar are half price.
And as usual, join us this Sunday at 8:00 AM in front of the Georgetown CB2 store for our weekly long run! Sweat a lot, get those endorphins roaring, and stick around for coffee, carbs, and conversation afterwards.
