WRC Community Service Project + More!

Tomorrow is our WRC community service project from 7:30 am to 10 am. We’ll be helping out with Saturday morning meal preparation at Charlie’s Place in Kalorama (near Dupont Circle). Charlie’s Place is a non-denominational, anti-hunger, homeless ministry of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. If you’re able to join us, please rsvp through the Facebook event page.

As always, we meet Sunday for our group run. Still at 8:00 am, still in front of the CB2, still running 4-12 miles, still meeting for coffee and food around 9:15.

WRC Happy Hour, formerly known as Thirsty Thursdays, returns on Thursday March 30 at 5:30 pm. This month’s happy hour location is Dirty Habit DC, 555 8th Street NW, in the Hotel Monaco.

WRC Movie Night is April 19 at the Gallery Place 14 Cinema.
Join your favorite runners for a showing of Boston, An American Running Story. We will hold a happy hour at Clyde’s of Gallery Place nearby, starting at 4 when the drinks and raw bar are half price. The movie starts at 7:30. Tickets to the movie are selling fast, so get yours now.

If you’re thinking about running Marine Corps Marathon on October 22, make sure to enter the registration lottery by Wednesday. A number of us will be training together based on a 20-week schedule I wrote up. It’s much, much more fun to train for a marathon with a group. So sign up now!

3/5 Sunday Run, Get Pumped for Pets, and Service Event

Please join us on Sunday March 5 at 8:00 am in front of CB2 in Georgetown for our weekly group run. It’s the first Sunday of the month, so we’ll have our group picture before the run. Then stick around for coffee and conversation at Peet’s on M Street.

If you think that WRC is worth more than, or equal to, $1.67 per month, please go to our website and start or renew your membership.http://www.washrun.org/membership/

Contact me if you’re interested in joining our alternative run on March 12 as we travel to Chester, Maryland to participate in the Get Pumped For Pets 5K, 10K, or 15K.

Our March community service project takes place on Saturday, March 25 from 7:30 am until 10:00 am at Charlie’s Place in Kalorama/Dupont Circle. Pat O’Keefe will be sending along more information about signing up via email and a new Facebook event page.
