Please join us on New Year’s Eve morning for our weekly Sunday Social Run. We’ll meet at 8:00 am in front of the CB2 in Georgetown for 4-12 miles of cold weather running, followed by coffee and conversation (place tbd).
Sunday Movie Club will be on hiatus this week, unless someone can convince me that it’s worth my time and money to see “The Greatest Showman” or “All the Money in the World.”
We’ll be meeting on Sunday morning at 8:00 am in front of the CB2 for our weekly social run. It’s still December, so it’s still a bring-a-friend-and-get-a-running-hat extravaganza.
Our Sunday Movie Club selection is The Post, playing at the Georgetown Loews, 11:00 am.
Please join us for Sunday’s social run at 8:00 am in front of the CB2. It’s the first Sunday of the month, so we’ll be taking our group picture.
In December, if you bring a friend to the Sunday run, you and your friend get a *free* WRC running hat.
This Sunday will also mark the first installment of Sunday Movie Club. Come run with us, enjoy coffee with the group after the run, and join me for my yearly tour through the Oscar contenders at the AMC Loews Georgetown off of Wisconsin & K. This week’s selection is “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” which begins at 10:35 am. The Loews is all reserved seating, so you can purchase your ticket ahead of time or purchase it from the box office on Sunday morning. I have purchased seat D7.
Finally, thanks to WRC Vice President Silver Lumsdaine for her service to the club, and good luck in San Francisco. Congrats on your new job!
Please join us at 8:00 am for our weekly social run. We’ll meet in front of CB2, as always.
We have ordered up a dry and windy morning for tomorrow’s 8:00 am social run. Come join us in front of CB2, burn a few pre-Thanksgiving calories, and then spend a few quality moments with us at Dean & Deluca after the run.
November WRC Happy Hour at Sauf Haus in Dupont Circle! Don’t miss the regaling of recent Marathon war stories—Chicago, MCM, NYC, and others—replete with graphic accounts of suffering (you will feel like you were there!) and undeniably compelling excuses for missed performance goals!
Sauf Haus is an authentic German beer garden with a huge patio, communal tables & imported brews on tap & by bottle. It is highly recommended by WRC’er Pat O’Keefe. As an added attraction, that day is also “Acoustic Thursday”, featuring singer-songwriter Katie Hargrove, beginning at 7:30.
Please be prepared for some road closures on your way to WRC’s 8:00 am social run tomorrow morning. The Marine Corps Marathon will cause some road closures near our CB2 meeting spot, but the group has traditionally met on MCM Sunday, so I expect that if you’re able to make it, there will be some others there as well. It sounds like most of the WRC board will be racing tomorrow or out of town, so don’t wait around for us!
WRC also has an opportunity to assist with the Georgetown Half Marathon on October 29. We have been asked to provide the race with a handful of WRC volunteers to staff three water stops on the course from approximately 8:00 am until (at the latest) noon. Our participation would mean a generous contribution to WRC’s financial health. If you are at all interested in helping out (or for more information), email our treasurer, James Scarborough, at email@example.com, and copy me (firstname.lastname@example.org).
