Corey Birdsong, 21 of Arlington. A solider in the U.S. Army, Corey is currently stationed in Washington. For the past couple of years he has done the Pikes Peak Marathon (where the idea you run 13 miles to the top of Pikes Peak, hyperventilate, and then stagger down) We welcome Cory into the area & the club, and look forward to running with him.

Race Results

It has been rather quiet these past two weeks. Except for the fact that this kid named Alan Webb of Reston set the HS record in the mile (3:53), a record that has stood for over 35 years. Congrats to Alan, best of luck to him next fall at Michigan.

Four of our tri-dogs ran the Columbia Tri-athlon on May 20th, and finished within ten minutes of each other. The Distances were 1.5k swim/41k bike/10k run. Thanks to Jeff Aronis for telling us about this.

  1. Jeff Aronis: 2:15:09
  2. Robin Oswald: 2:20:20 (with the fastest 10k for all women at 39:53!!!)

News of the Sunday Run

The Sunday run is now starting at 7:30, as we are now beyond Memorial Day. This will definitely favor those of you who happen to be insomniacs. Tris Kruger has offered to let us run from his house in Potomac whenever we like. Tris has a pool, and a stocked refrigerator, so this can be an excellent field trip to make some sultry Sunday.

Todd Martin to Lead Rockville Twilighter Team

Todd Martin has offered to captain our Rockville Twilighter team. If interested in running, please contact Todd by email.

Club News in Haiku

This is an especially short version of club news. The perfect version of club news (in our humble opinion) would actually read like Haiku.
