We’ll meet for coffee and carbs at Dean & Deluca immediately following the run. All are welcome.

For those who aren’t early birds, we’ll be switching to our “winter hours” after Labor Day, which means our runs will start at 8:00 a.m. Don’t worry, we’ll send reminders as the date approaches.

Runners needed for Blue Ridge Relay team!

Fellow WRC-er Mark Lee is running the Blue Ride Relay on September 11 – 12 and his team is looking for runners! Starting in Grayson Highlands State Park, VA, runners will complete the 208-mile journey to Asheville, NC by running three separate times, totaling an average of 16 miles per runner. If you haven’t run a relay before, it’s a wonderful way to meet new people, challenge yourself, and enjoy a beautiful part of the country.

The team will arrive at the start of the race on Thursday, September 10 and will return on Sunday, September 13. All expenses for the race are covered, and if you’re in the DC area, you can carpool with Mark if needed.

If you’re interested in joining the team, send an email to president@washrun.org and we’ll connect you with Mark.

First Sunday Distance Run!
It’s hard to believe, but the first Sunday of August is upon us, which means we’ll take our First Sunday photo. Come in your running best, or whatever is best to beat the heat, and we’ll take the picture pre-run to memorialize another great month of WRC.

As always, we’ll meet in front of the CB2 store in Georgetown and will have three pace groups of 7:30/8:00 min/mile, 8:00/8:30 min/mile, and 10:00/11:00 min/mile each running anywhere from 8-18 miles. Most of our runs are out-and-back, so it’s easy to add or cut mileage.

After the run, we’ll meet at Dean and Deluca for coffee, carbs, and conversation!

Hope to see you there!

Sunday Distance Run for 7/26

Last week, our Sunday Distance Run was one for the books. It was incredibly hot and humid here in DC – the type of weather that even the fittest of runners will suffer in. Luckily, the humidity has broke and it looks like our next run will be blessed with more suitable conditions. Fingers crossed, at least.

Anyway, our next Sunday Distance Run will take place on Sunday, July 26 at 7:00 a.m. in front of the CB2 store in Georgetown. We’ll have three pace groups – a 7:30/8:00 min/mile, an 8:00/8:30 min/mile, and a 10:00/10:30 min/mile. Distances will vary based on what folks are training for but runs will most like range from 8 to 18 miles.

Coffee and carbs to follow at Dean & Deluca. All runners welcome.

Next WRC Run: Sunday, July 19

Hey WRC!

There will be three pace groups: a 7:30 min/mile group, an 8:00-8:30 min/mile group, and a 10:30 min/mile group. Distances range from 8-15 miles, but this may vary depending on training schedule. There will be something for everyone, no matter what you have on your race schedule!

Hope to see you there!

Post-4th Sunday Distance Run

Hey everyone! Our next Sunday Distance Run is on Sunday, July 5. Hopefully you won’t be too fireworked-out to join us! It’s also the First Sunday photo so be sure to wear your Sunday best 🙂

We’ll meet at 7:00 a.m. in front of the CB2 store on M Street NW in Georgetown. There are three pace groups – a 7:30 min/mi, an 8:00/8:30 min/mile, and a 10:30 min/mile – running distances from 8-18 miles, depending on what folks are training for. Most of our runs are out and back so it’s easy to run back early or add on if needed.

After the run, we’ll meet at Dean and Deluca for coffee and carbs.

See you there!
