Congrats to those that did races in August! Big Star Lake 5k, Ashland Half Marathon, DCRRC events, MCRRC events, Bishops events and Potomac Valley games to name a few!

August 2025 Race Highlights

Just a few race highlights:

Congratulations to John Smilde on getting 2nd in M60+ at the Big Star Lake 5k with a time of 28:50 (pace 9:17/mi), Frithjov Iverson on getting 1st in M65-69 at the DCRRC Cross Country Three Miler with a time of 23:37 (pace 7:52/mi) and James Scarborough on getting 1st in M65-69 at the Bishops Events Sunrise Scurry 10k with a time of 57:10 (pace 9:12/mi) as well as big congrats to Ryan Simethy for completing the Ashland Half Marathon with a time of 1:54:40 (pace 8:45/mi).

June 2025- Race Highlight

Congratulations to WRC peeps and our parkrun friends that did the Bay of Fundy International Marathon Weekend on June 22, 2025! From the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k- there was room for all in the land of FUNdy.

10k- Reena Shah (01:32), Alyssa Harben (1:32), Half Marathon- Joyce Adams (03:12), DJ Loop (03:30), Anna Weber (02:18), Marathon- Eric Fethe (04:11), Thomas Stevenson (04:11)

Inspiring stuff coming from Thomas Stevenson (04:11:09 9:35min/mile)! He completed his first marathon, alongside Coach Eric Fethe (04:11:12 9:35min/mile). Coach Fethe in the house!! The marathon course elevation gain was approximately 2,400 feet! Great work!

DJ Loop, It can’t get any more Maine than that!

May 2025- More in Races

Big Congratulations to our WRC 10k team at the Capitol Hill Classic on May 18, 2025! They came in 2nd overall amongst 34 teams. Their combined time was 02:08:56 (counting the fastest 3)- Wow, way to go!

The coed team consisted of Ben Stutts, Sidney Ascher, Eric Graffy and Daltyn Payne.

Big Congratulations to Nelle Paoli (with a 15 minute PR- 03:29:20) and team mate/pacer/everyone’s bestest buddy Rahul Nandi (03:29:19) for completing the Cleveland Marathon on May 17, 2025!

First Sunday Photo- At the Fedex Pittsburgh Marathon Relay and the UPMC Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon/Georgetown Sunday morning run.

Congrats to our Pittsburgh Marathon Relay team and Half Marathon runners. WRC came in 16th out of 660 teams (!!) and 9th in the OPEN MIXED Division in the relay. With a time of 03:19:23 (avg pace 7:37 min/mi.). Wow, so awesome!

(We were there for all the P’s too- party, pace, porta potties…hehe!)

Relay Team: Eric Graffy, Kat Moore, Daniel Eisert, Ben Stutts, Harrison Welsher

Half Marathon Runners: Henry Wade (01:50:21), Katie Beaudoin (02:13:08), Rachael Cohen (02:13:08) and Mike Zimlinghaus (02:13:06). Nice!

First Sunday Photo- Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run. Congrats to our team at the Mixed DMV Run Club Championships. WRC came in 7th out of 16 teams. Way to go!
