November 2025 Race Highlights

Congratulations to all that had races! Looks like many people kicked the stuffing out of their turkey trots this November! Gobble gobble! And many had awesome other races too!

Richmond Marathon Weekend- There was a solid group in Richmond on the weekend of the 15th! Ryan Simethy completed his first marathon- 4:25:04 (10:07min/mi avg) coached by Rahul Nandi. Mike Zinlinghaus, marathon 3:24:31 (7:48min/mi avg), fast. Katie Beaudoin, half marathon 1:56:08 (8:52min/mi avg)- a PR. Katie Freix- 1:46:42 (8:06min/mi avg) had a great half marathon and Eric had a suberb half marathon. Kat Moore completed her first 8k- 0:50:50 (10:14min/mi avg). Awesome work by all!

Turkey Trots- John Smilde, Vienna Turkey Trot- 28:06 (9:03min/mi avg), Christine Hackman, Thanksgiving Stuffing Stomp 5k- 28:23 (9:08min/mi avg) 1st F60-69, James Scarborough, HCS Jefferes Hill Turkey Trot 10K 1:00:49 (9:47min/mi avg), Frithjov Iversen, Fairfax Turkey Trot 4 Miler 31:42 (7:56 min/mi avg) 1st M65+ and Daniel Eisert, Turkey Day 5k Reston, Va 18:17 (5:53min/mi avg) 3rd M25-29 and his first race since the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay (WTG!).

More- Sergey Volcov- NCR Marathon, Kat Moore- Virtual Norfolk Harbor Half, Christine Hackman, Jack T Farrer Jr. Fill the Shoes 5k- 27:30 (8:52min/mi avg) 2nd F60-64, James Scarborough Tidal Basin Run Veterans Day 4M 37:56 (9:29min/mi avg) 2nd place.

October 2025 Race Highlights

Congratulations to all that had races– October was a big month! From Chicago to Marine Corp and everything in between, super proud of everyone!

Chicago Marathon– Lili Zigo (4:32:32 avg pace 10:24min/mi) 2nd Marathon (Major) and Jordan Konig (Chicago being one in his arsenal of marathons!) (3:29:05 avg pace: 7:58min/mi).

Marine Corps Marathon– Huge Congratulations to Rahul Nandi on his 3rd consecutive sub- 3 hour marathon (2:54:18 avg pace 6:39min/mi). Way to go Rahul! Amazing run to everyone as well! Lawson Kennan (3:10:02 avg pace 7:15min/mi) a Marathon PR, Eric, Sergey Volcov (3:29:49 avg pace 7:58min/mi), Sidney Ascher (4:46:57), Vikrant Gokhale (5:04ish), Alina Korovatskaya (3:59:15) First Marathon, Daltyn Payne (3:59:15), Katie Beaudoin (5:30:37), Andrew Overton (4:18:06), Henry Wade (4:50:00), Kat Moore (5:35:52 12:49mim/mi) First Marathon.

Rocky Gap State Park 25k and relay in Flinstone, MD- Ben Stutts was 3rd OA M and 3rd OA out of 129 in the 25k (2:03:49 avg pace 7:41min/mi) and Anna Weber on the relay team (6.6mi loop 1:14:47 avg pace 11:30mi/mi)- her team got 5th place in the women’s relay! Great work! This was a hilly one! (Elevation gain- 1200ft).

Some 5ks and other distances– Eric Fethe Bull City 5k (19:31 avg pace 6:17 min/mi) faster than Mark Zuckerburg and a 5k PR! James Scarborough- Tidal Basin Run Columbus Day 4K, 24:30 3rd place, Ghost and Scarecrow 5K, Ashburn VA, 29:31 73rd place, 2nd M 60-69, CBRC Riviera Ten Miler, Piney Point MD, 1:39:00 17th place, Nick Stamatakos 10/4 Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists Oktoberfest 5K 29:16 1st M 60-64, Sergey Volcov 10/12 Army 10 Miler 1:11:49 (7:11min/mi), Frithjov Iversen- Kensington parkrun 5k 23:06 (7:26min/mi) 1st in M65-69, Army Ten Miler (1:26:24 8:39min/mi).

Congrats to those that had races in September! Some memorable races include the DC Half, Bishops races, Run! Geek! Run! 5k, Fletcher’s Cove parkrun, Tidal Basin Run 5k and Virtual Donate Life Family Fun Run 5k.

September 2025 Race Highlights

What an amazing showing at the DC Half! Race results for the DC Half include: Jordan Konig 01:38:10 (7:30 avg pace), Rahul Nandi 01:22:04 (6:16 avg pace), Lawson Kennan 01:30:35 (6:55 avg pace), Alina Korovatskaya 01:50:17 (8:26 avg pace) and Daltyn Payne (pacing Alina) 01:50:17 (8:26 avg pace). Wow, great job you all!

A few 5k mentions: Run! Geek! Run! Alexandria 5k 23:20 (7:32 avg pace) taking 2nd in M65-69, Frithjov Iversen. In 4th place at the Tidal Basin Run 5k with 30:30 (avg pace 9:50), James Scarborough. And a sub 30 minute 5k with 29:42 for Nick Stamatakos at Fletcher’s Cove parkrun.

June 2025- Race Highlight

Congratulations to WRC peeps and our parkrun friends that did the Bay of Fundy International Marathon Weekend on June 22, 2025! From the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k- there was room for all in the land of FUNdy.

10k- Reena Shah (01:32), Alyssa Harben (1:32), Half Marathon- Joyce Adams (03:12), DJ Loop (03:30), Anna Weber (02:18), Marathon- Eric Fethe (04:11), Thomas Stevenson (04:11)

Inspiring stuff coming from Thomas Stevenson (04:11:09 9:35min/mile)! He completed his first marathon, alongside Coach Eric Fethe (04:11:12 9:35min/mile). Coach Fethe in the house!! The marathon course elevation gain was approximately 2,400 feet! Great work!

DJ Loop, It can’t get any more Maine than that!

May 2025- More in Races

Big Congratulations to our WRC 10k team at the Capitol Hill Classic on May 18, 2025! They came in 2nd overall amongst 34 teams. Their combined time was 02:08:56 (counting the fastest 3)- Wow, way to go!

The coed team consisted of Ben Stutts, Sidney Ascher, Eric Graffy and Daltyn Payne.
