August 2026 Race Highlights
Ending the summer with a bang!
Congratulations to our relay team that participated in the First Annual District Ekiden Relay presented by Pacers Running. Our 4 person team consisted of Leg 1- Alina Korovatskaya (19:44), Leg 2- Daltyn Payne (16:54), Leg 3- Kat Moore (30:56) and Leg 4- Ryan Simethy (19:49) (acc. to their Strava times).
This Japanese style race was an evening race that had each team mate complete a loop of 2.8 miles through bustling and energetic Navy Yard along the Anacostia Riverwalk trail, across the scenic Frederick Douglas Memorial Bridge, onto a much quieter, green and serene Anacostia side of the Riverwalk trail and a return back across the 11th Street Bridge (a sneaky hill) into Navy Yard. Ending at the start hub where each team mate completed the handoff and finished their leg of the relay. 11.2 miles total for the team! Woowoo!🗼🇯🇵
Well done to Pacers Running for putting on a great event and our relay team for taking up a challenge. We had a great time!
