The Cherry Blossom 10 Miler saw a number of good individual & team performances. The two men’s open team captained by Todd Martin & Kyle Yost, took fifth and eighth respectively, when nine male runners broke sixty minutes.

Among the women, Casey Smith, running her first ten miler ever, broke 59 minutes. Says Casey about her race.

“It would have been nice to place. If Lindsay and I hadn’t crossed the line 3 minutes after the gun, we would have done well as a team (if we fielded a full team)”

WRC Team takes 3rd Place at the St. Patrick’s Day 8k (March 11, 2012)

Congratulations to all WRC members who raced in the St. Patrick’s Day 8k this morning and especially those who signed up for the team competition:  Geoff King, Kirk Masterson, Brian Savitch, Emily Buzzell, and David Pittman.

Team scoring for the race was based on the top four team runners with at least one female required for scoring.  Team results can be found here: St. Patrick’s Day 8k Team Race Results 2012.

This is a great start to the spring road racing season!  Stay tuned for more opportunities to join WRC teams in upcoming races; the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler is up next with WRC fielding several teams for this event.
