WRC Sunday Distance Run

A weekly club tradition since the early 1980's

         Email

Members and friends of the WRC meet in Georgetown every Sunday for distances ranging from 10 to 14 miles (some do more during marathon training times). We meet at the 3300 Block of M Street, NW at 8:00 a.m. We begin together and then run at paces varying anywhere from 6:00 to 9:30 per mile.

Most of the routes we run are out and back. Thus, if someone wants to go shorter, they simply turn around and head back when it's to their liking.

We have differing paces and distances, but of course, it all depends on who's there.

We try to leave at 8:00, that is, if we're ready and really want to. Try to get there a bit early to gather and stretch.

After running we regroup to hang out together for a spell for coffee and refreshments of a varied sort at Dean & Delucca on M Street.

Every and anyone is welcome to join us! Even if you're not yet a member or simply visiting from afar. We love to see new faces, and also of course, those of members who have been absent of late for one reason or another.

Directions to the WRC Distance Run
3300 Block of M Street in Georgetown, Washington, DC

For the WRC Sunday distance run, we meet 1 & 1/2 blocks from the Key Bridge in the 3300 block of M Street in Georgetown.

From DC:

  • Take M Street, NW, west into Georgetown
  • Cross Wisconsin Avenue
  • Proceed three blocks
From Virginia:
  • Cross Key Bridge (yep, ya gotta find it first)
  • Turn right on M Street
  • Proceed 1 & 1/2 blocks
Park along M Street or where you prefer (no meter charges on Sundays), and then look for a gathering group of people, most of whom are out of touch with early Sunday morning reality.

Via Metro: the metro is open at 7 a.m. on weekends. The closest stop is Rosslyn (orange & blue lines)...a short run is required across the Key Bridge and then a right on M Street for 1&1/2 blocks.
