Grand Prix Winners
We are proud to announced that three of our runners were 2001 RacePacket
Grand Prix winners. The Grand Prix recognizes runners who compete well in a
series of local races throughout the year.
Kirk Baird placed fifth among male overall, while Chris Galaty was first
among males under age 30. Sarah Buckheit was first among women 40-49. Our warmest congrats to
all three of these runners.

Reconfiguration of Cherry Blossom Teams
We have reconfigured the composition of our Cherry Blossom 10 Miler teams. Why? We
realized last week that there was no co-ed open team category. OOPS!
Anyway we created a Women’s Open team captained by Kate Hudson, and three Men’s Open teams, captained by
Todd Martin, Kyle Yost & James Scarborough respectively. Prez Wadsworth will
be sending out an email detailing the new teams. The new teams are on the website under proprietary club documents.
Looking for race captains
If you are interested in being a race captain in an upcoming race, please contact
Jim Wadsworth. Being captain involves soliciting club runners, and submitting the paper
work to the race. The club usually defrays part of the entry fees on such races.
Stork brings Special Delivery
We are happy to report that Donna Eliot gave birth on March 20th to Jessica Elizabeth, 8lbs 6 oz
and 20 1/2 inches. We understand that the mother & daughter are doing well. We
hope to see Donna on the trails again soon.
Inaugural DC Marathon on Tap for this Weekend
Best of luck to all our runners running the inaugural DC Marathon. Steve Ward, Patrick Dudly, Bill Dunn, Alexandra Todd, and others are entered. Seven o’clock is admittedly an early start time, but this is to accommodate Palm Sunday, and traffic attendant to that holiday. It looks to be a great course, with a promise of fine weather on Sunday. Be valiant & speed well!
